Charmaine Long

Operations Manager
Volunteer Coordinator

Charmaine spent most of her life in the Warren and Saratoga counties. As a single parent she understood the challenges of making ends meet from week to week. In addition, one of her passions has always been to serve and assist where there is need.

As a Business owner in Glens Falls Charmaine inspired to address the personal needs of those going through cancer treatments. She is the founder of the Uniquely You Boutique at Glens Falls Cancer Treatment Center. The boutique assists patients with a variety of services and solutions when they are experiencing the loss of hair and skin pallor during chemo and radiation treatments.

Charmaine has been independently working through her certification as a “Bridges Out of Poverty” trainer. Understanding the constructs of poverty and the impact to the community has brought Charmaine to the Open Door Mission. The opportunities and future forward thinking of the mission in addressing the needs of people has united Charmaine as part of their team.

Another area of concern for Charmaine is the rise in drug and substance addiction locally. She  recently completed her certification as a “Recovery Coach” allowing her to work closely with those who have completed Addiction Treatment and are navigating life in recovery. In concert with other recovery coaches Charmaine volunteers time to meet with those in need to help maintain their new status of “Recovery”.
