Reflecting on 2024: A Year of Hope and Growth

As we close the books on 2024, we're filled with gratitude and inspiration for everything we've accomplished together. The Open Door Mission continues to be a place of refuge, transformation, and hope for those in need, and this past year demonstrated the power of community.

Here's a gimpse into the highlights from our 202024 Annual Report:

Thanks to your support, we provided:

• 13,512 Bed Nights
• 3,152 Individuals Served
• 37,256 Meals Served
• 13,500 Shower Appointments
• 6,190 Laundry Appointments

And much, much more.

These numbers represent lives changed - meals served with kindness, nights spent in safety, and moments of healing and growth.

Milestones Achieved

This year brought several significant advancements in our mission:

• Laundry Room Renovation: A $30,000 gift from First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls allowed us to being renovations on our laundry facitilites with commercial washers and dryers, ensuring guests and the community have access to clean clothing.
• Mental Health Clinic Development: With funds raised by the upcoming South High Marathon Dance, we began planning an on-site mental health clinic, a vital addition to our services.

The Heart of Our Mission: Volunteers and Donors

None of this would have been possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors. Over 16,000 volunteer hours were logged in 2024, from serving meals to organizing events like our annual Gobble Wobble and Starry Night Gala.

Your unwaivering support allows us to offer not just food and shelter, but hope and a path forward for our guests.

Looking Ahead

As we move into 2025, we're excited to expand our services, particularly in mental health care and transitional programs. We also launched our capital campaign to fund the creation of a dedicated chapel and library at The Open Door Mission. With your help, we'll continue to serve as a beacon of hope for those who need it most.
